The hold music is generated continuously and without authority. It is not a recording. Nobody composed it, which I hold to be the only honest way to compose. It detunes, very slowly, for as long as you remain on the line; this is not a fault, and has been referred to a sub-committee, which is currently a man, alone, near a radiator.

Your call may be monitored for quality, training, or no reason at all. It will not be answered. I do not take calls. The line exists so that you have somewhere to wait, waiting being, in the view of at least the Lower Saxony Quiet, the most industrial activity available to a person who owns a telephone.
